How long does it take you to paint a face?

The amount of detail in the design determines how long a face painting will take. Small and standard designs with little detail can take about 3 to 5 minutes (ones that I bring to most events). A more complex design or a design with more detail can take 5 to 12 mins (designs I bring to special events). I work with you to come up with set of designs that suits your needs.

How long does it take you set up?

For face painting, it can take me 2-3 minutes to set up. For airbrushing, it will take 3-5 minutes to set up.

What designs can you paint?

I have a "standard" design board with about 44 popular face painting designs to choose from (princesses, super heroes, various animals, symbols, butterflies, flowers, and other characters) as well as custom requests depending on the party. There are designs appropriate for various ages. The standard designs get updated periodically for the season, etc. If you require a specific theme, I consult with you to determine the designs you would like offered. I can paint full face, half face (half masks), and cheek/body art. Contact me for more information. I also consult with you regarding any body painting or special airbrush tattoos designs. I can make custom stencils for logos if needed.

Do you use professional face paints?

Yes, I only use professional make up. I do not use acrylics I predominantly use Paradise and Starblend face paint from Mehron (made in the USA) and have some colors from the Diamond FX, Wolf FX, and FABA brand. These face paints are cosmetic grade and are manufactured in compliance with FDA regulations with FDA approved ingredients. I have been asked if my supplies have soy. Based on my research they do not have soy.

Can the face paint come off easily?

The face paint does not easily smudge, unless the design becomes wet. The paints I use can withstand some sweat without dripping or coming off. For more hot and humid days, I have airbrush face paint (water-based and water resistant, but comes off with soap and water), glitter tattoos, and aibrush tattoos options available.

These face paints can all be removed with soap and water. I can provide make up remover wipes for small parties for an extra charge, although they are not necessary.

The best method for removing face paint is as follows:

-Apply mild soap or baby shampoo to paint and lather gently with fingers in circular motion to loosen paint.
-Rinse off or wipe off with a damp, warm (dark colored) wash cloth. Do not scrub.
-Repeat if necessary after a few minutes if color remains or gently rub baby oil or moisturizer with cotton wool.
-Please DO NOT sleep in face paint. If you must, use a towel on the pillow.
-If you must use wipes, Wet Ones are preferred, (the regular wipes are not advised).

For events involving water, glitter tattoos and other painted tempoary tattoos are perfect because they can last up to seven days and are waterproof. Glitter tattoos are a popular add-on.

What do you need us to have on hand?

I need a small area that will fit a small table and two folding chairs. I can provide a small lifetime table and the two chairs if needed, unless you specify that the space already has them available for use.
