Most people have never heard of airbrush face painting. I'm going to tell you about it because I really think you will like its advantages during the summer.

Instead of using a traditional brush, we use an airbrush gun (see image on the left) that sprays air and make-up out at comfortable pressure levels. The airbrush doesn't touch your skin, you feel cool air instead. This method helps speed up designs. The makeup we use has no "fog" so you won't be seeing a cloud of makeup. You will be safe and comfortable. Many comment on how they like the sweet smell of the makeup.

Big Grins uses during the summer is called "hybrid" airbrush makeup because is has some of the qualities of water-based face paint and also airbrush tattoo ink. It has the advantage of being smudge-proof, water-resistant, and yet easily removed with liquid soap and water. It can last up to 3 days if you don't wash it off. You can have a pool party, water activities, sweaty kids on a moon bounce, a water park event, or dance all night at the club without worrying about this make-up dripping off and getting on your clothes. We've personally tested it through the hottest days and dancing all night here in the Maryland & DC area and it lasted.

Our body painting clients have told us that it was a cinch to remove. When you're ready to remove the airbrush face paint "hybrid" make-up, lather or foam up some liquid soap on the design and work the soap into it. The make-up will lift off the skin into the soap foam and you can rinse it off with water or wipe with a dark cloth.

Both adults and children alike enjoy getting airbrush face painted. It's fast, smudge-proof, water-resistant, long lasting, and really fun.

Big Grins Face Painting & Body Art will be providing face painting, airbrush face painting, and temporary tattoos from 6-9 on Fridays at the Rio Washingtonian Center. We will be set up between Joes Crab Shack and Uncle Julios, near the lake and boardwalk. Stop by and experience the live bands while getting a special design. It is great entertainment while waiting for your table to be ready. A portion of the proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity Montgomery County.

According to Wikipedia, the color first associated with St. Patrick was blue. Over time the color to celebrate St. Patrick's Day became green. Bring yourself to the Green Turtle in Leesburg, VA for kids games and face painting on March 16, 2013 at 4:30pm.
